Building the digital infrastructure for effective democracy.
BungeConnect was founded on a simple premise: that the dignity of parliamentary office deserves technology that matches its importance.
In an era of rapid digital transformation, the tools available to our elected representatives have often lagged behind. Constituency offices are inundated with casework, legislative research is fragmented, and communication with citizens is often reactive rather than proactive.
We built BungeConnect to close this gap. By providing a unified, secure, and professional operating system for Members of Parliament, we aim to:
- Streamline Service Delivery: Ensuring every constituent request is tracked, managed, and resolved efficiently.
- Enhance Transparency: Providing clear data on legislative activities and office performance.
- Empower Engagement: Giving MPs the tools to listen to and communicate with their communities effectively.
We believe that when our leaders have better tools, our democracy works better for everyone.
Who's behind BungeConnect
Ken Ruto — Founder & Builder
BungeConnect is built by Ken Ruto, a technical product manager with 6+ years building B2B enterprise software across Kenya and North America. He holds a BSc in Computer Science from Haverford College (USA).
Ken previously founded Flux Water, where he built Kenya's largest water-utility dataset (30M+ data points, recognised by the UN), won the Cisco Global Problem Solver Challenge and Social Shifters STEM Global award, and deployed operations software to four Nairobi water utilities — cutting field costs by around 90%. He went on to lead AccessWASH, an enterprise digital suite for water operators delivered with IHE Delft, Rotary International and GIZ.
He designed, built and deployed BungeConnect end-to-end — a multi-tenant Django platform with Twilio SMS and M-Pesa payments — and onboarded its founding client, Hon. Francis Sigei of Sotik Constituency. He understands the product, the politics, and the operational reality of an MP's office.
